In 1983, Holiday Inns, Inc. purchased what was by then a 26 acre estate for its new corporate headquarters. The lush grounds and stately mansion represented an opportunity to create a unique campus-style office environment. The company opened the doors of its new headquarters in 1985, and subsequently evolved from Holiday Corporation to the Promus Companies and then to Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. In October of 1999, the complex was acquired by a partnership comprised of R. Brad Martin and his sons, Daniel Martin and Rawleigh Martin.
The two office buildings served as an operations center for Harrah's from 1995-2008 and the residence houses the personal office of Mr. Martin and his family investment company, RBM Venture Company. The current owners are pleased to be a part of the property's rich history, and in honor of Edward W. Cook, have renamed the estate "Oaksedge."
The respect and love which the Martin's feel towards this special campus is reflected in their management and ownership style, led by Rawleigh Martin. Being a great steward of this incredible and historical asset is of the utmost importance to the Oaksedge team and every aspect of the campus continuously gets the attention and respect it deserves.
